Here are some of the Christmas pictures I took of Clay and Caiden. I attempted to take family photos so I could get some Christmas Cards printed BUT that did not go soo smoothly. They were really really bad. BUT since we have to go to church tonight for a Christmas program I figured we could take another try at them. Ok..I really didn't realize that I have left this blog thing a long time ago. I am guilty of using myspace...I just love it...I really like the way my blog appears but..heck I don't know...mabey I can keep up with both of them. Well Christmas is almost here. I just cannot believe it. It has really gotton out of hand though..I mean come on..between the XBox and Wii and the other units. There is just too much stuff kids want. What happened to them being grateful for the basic things. Now they are made fun of it they don't get the "hot" toys for christmas. Christmas is about Jesus and our Lord and Savior, it is about being with family and singing songs together. It is about hot cocoa and peppermint sticks, board games and laughing. Ok..now that I am off my soap box I feel better. I am going to try and put some picture on here...the hidden word there was going... :) Talk to ya soon...

Its Been A While

Ok..I know it has been a while since I have been on to blog and I have been cheating around a bit...I have been doing.....MySpace.... I know..I am soo bad. But I will try and keep both up to date... Whats new...well, we just got back from our weeklong vacation in Panama City Beach Florida. It was wonderful the sun, sand, and surf...it was beautiful. I have been spending alot of time with my brothers...ok well one of them and then other one I have been talking and texting alot. This is a newfound for me. I have only met Johne once and Eric lives in town with me so I get to spend lots of time around them. Jordy and Becky (Brad's brother) well they set a wedding date. May 19, 2007. I got to go with her to pick a dress out...it is magnificent. We had a blast. Clay is now 8 and Caiden is 3...boy do they grow up fast. But other than that...nothing...well..my best friend Jackie is expecting a little girl... Abbigail Raven and my sister in law is expecting...and we are not sure what she is having yet.. My sister had a baby the other day a little girl. Kaylee Grace. Boy I am going to say away from the water for a while. Well I am going to sign off for now...

:: I HATE hair- I gag at the thought of a loose hair on my shoulder or even worse a wet one from washing your hair in the shower... UGH....

:: I call myself a scrapbooker and a photographer yet I have never completed and album of either one.

:: I have a spending problem-I love to shop. ( like that was a surprise to anyone)

:: I wake up as happy as happy as I go to bed.

:: I love to clean and to have a clean house but ironically enough, I am never in the mood to clean when things need to be cleaned...only when things are tidy and in order.

:: I always write down a "To Do List" but never seem to follow my list.

I keep forgetting that I have this thing...I really mean to blog atleast once a week. BUT... I hope things are going well for my friends. Things have been busy here...Clay has been playing ball and getting better at it all the time. Caiden is getting bigger every day...and she thinks she is grown. Jordy and Rebekah are putting together their plans for getting married and Misty has been accepted to Shelton State College in Tuscaloosa Al. She is moving out in August to start school...and BTW she got a scholarship for the dance team...she is soo excited. I am getting to go to Texas for my brother Dail's wedding..I am really excited about going since there is alot of my family I have never met...So I am nervous and excited all in one. I hope that I fit in with them and such forth. My brother that lives here is wonderful and we all get along great...we have kids around the same age and we see each other alot at the all fields...hopefully we will become closer over time and can be close to the kids... Well I better sign off for now..I am starving and I am waiting on lunch...

Well its me again. I swear I sometimes forget I even have this thing. Life is going well for me...just staying busy. My sister in law Misty is graduating High School this weekend, Clay had baseball games everytime I turn around, and then one of my brothers is getting married in Texas and I am trying to figure out how to make it to that..I mean how do you come up with money when you really don't have any to spare or to start with. If I don't get to go it will be ok, I will survive, but I would really like to meet the family I have never met before. ( ok whole different story) anyway.. Why is it that things happen in 3's... A girl I work with, her mom had breast cancer and then was diagnosed with Luekemia, and then the girl herself was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, and now a best friend of mine was just diagnosed with breast cancer. I just don't see what is going on. I know that God challenges his flock and if we were not recieving challanges we are just not doing things right BUT why do things have to be so painful, having your soul just ripped out to think about my close friend...my family having to go through Heck on earth with Chemo and radiation, ports, nausea, and all the other things that a body has to go through. The only thing I as an indiviual can do is pray, pray for strength to be their friend, pray for their strength to survive and be strong. Pray for their faith to stay near and never let them falter. I pray for their well being. Well I will get off my soapbox at the moment. I will try and post something later..mabey even some pics. Pam, I am with you, I hope that all goes well and I am always here for you. I love ya...you are like a sister to me...

Well today is my birthday...I guess that could be a good thing since I have come along another year... I am now 26. I know that is not old...but why does it feel so bad... 25 wasn't bad...but 26 just sounds BAD... Almost 30 and I haven't accomplished anything that I wanted to...yes I am a mother and a wife..and I love it..never would I even think about changing it ( like you could go back in time.. teeheet) But I don't know...I guess it is just one of those days. It has been nice though.. The first thing this morning my daddy called me and wished his princess a happy birthday, then I got to work and Jackie ( best friend) brought me fun and happy balloon and a wonderfully smelling candle and a wonderful "Rachel's Photo's" brag book..I cannot wait to fill it. Then my other friends Toni, Showaun, and Margaret gave me some cupcakes and a gift certificate to one of my favorite restaurants Zachary's. Then some more friends of mine took me to lunch, Jackie, Samantha, Celsie, and Evie...I had so much fun... I threatened them that if ANYONE sang to me I would murder them.. :) I am really shy when it comes that that stuff. :) I got some text messages and such from some of my family wishing me a happy birthday... I decided to skip the gym tonight..I mean who wants to workout on their birthday... I will probably go home and cook some chicken spagetti and have my sister in laws come over and eat...I guess my own little birthday party...

Oh..by the way...we are in this weightloss thingy at work and I have lost a total of 8 1/2 pounds... I am doing the Weight Watchers program... I am very proud of myself and next friday we weight in...IF I lose the most weight...then I win the pot....It is like 120.00.. heck yeah.. :)

Ok...I know it has been a while since I last blogged something... I almost forgot that I had this thing.. I hope all has been going well with everyone...things have been really busy my way... Between starting to go to the gym and everyone in my family tossing illness around to everyone we have been ok...I got a new camera. It is taking me a while getting used to it...but I love it..I will have to take some pictures and post them to show off my new work. I will go for now...but hope to blog pretty soon....

I cannot believe it..It is finally Friday... I have waited all week for this day. Life has been so hectic lately...with Caiden being sick, Clay being sick, me fighting a miagrane and now Brad sick...where do you find the extra hours for...well...ME... I don't have time for a manicure, much needed pedicure, facial or heck even putting a color in my hair... You would think that eventually things got into such a RUT that you would no matter what have atleast and hour a week or something... Well that is ok...It is suppose to be cold and dreary this weekend and I plan on doing...wait for it............................... NOTHING... my house has surprisingly stayed clean (somewhat) and I am not going to do a thing.. :) I will have to blog on monday to let you know how that went. Until then...have a wonderful and cold weekend.. :) mabey I will do some scrapbooking...or..taking some pics of the kids... I am sure they would LOVE that.. :)

I know it has been a while since I have blogged anything. Seems these days just fly by while I am just standing staring at it go by. Things are going pretty well with me..other than having a miagrane that kicked my tail, the kids are doing much better and we are little by little getting back on track. The house is staying remotely clean (as clean as it can be with two kids and a husband in it) Some people might say my life is boring...but I love every minute of it... I love being on such a schedule you can read me like a book. We did get new beds for our children...nothing special. Just some storage beds from walmart. they are really cute...and it is soo sweet seeing Caiden in her first Big Girl bed... Oh..I will so have to blog that. By the way...Happy Valentines Day...well a little late.. Brad surprised me this year and sent me roses...real roses...I haven't gotten roses since I was a JR in high school...( 10 years) I gave him some strawberry cheesecake and some choc covered strawberries, some heart shaped sweet tarts (his fav) and some choc candies.. That night we went to Brian & Ash...and Anna's house and cooked them Valentines...since we couldn't go out (kids in school) We had such a good time. It is nice to spend it with family. Anna Catherine's first valentines went wonderfully... she is getting so big... well I won't keep any of you... I will try and post some pics in a couple of days.

I cannot believe she is finally here... Brian & Ashlee Custard (my cousins by marriage...my close family by choice) had their first child on January 31, 2005. Her name IS Anna Catherine Custard. She was 8 lbs 02 oz... WOW...she is absolutely beautiful... I cannot wait until she gets home and we can enjoy taking pics whenever we want. She is so soft and beautiful... I just love how babies smell. Brian and Ashlee are sooo happy and I haven't seen them happier since the day they were married. Life changes so drastically when you have children...but I personally wouldn't change anything of it. They are precious gifts from God that everyone doesn't recieve. He gave us a wonderful opportunity to "borrow" his children to make our lives more complete and entrusts us to raise them in the best possible christian atmosphere and hopefully one day they will grow up to be strong christian soldiers. New Years Resolutions!!!!

Well I guess it is that time again where we make our "resolutions" that somehow never usually make it out of January. I am going to try really hard this year to make it stick and become a habit...so mabey next year I won't have to make any all my resolutions will be done already. Well here goes nothing.

1. Live a Heathier Lifestyle
I want to cook healthier (set a good example for my kids) and exercise regularly not so that it is a task, but something fun to do.

2. Be More Organized
I want to be an organized person and have a place for everything. My goal is twice a month choose a room and "spring clean" it. I love the magazine look but with a touch of lived in. At this time my house looks so "Lived In" I don't have room to live in it.

3. Lose 35 lbs
Through my resolution #1 I am going to attemp this weight loss. If I get to a point to where I feel like I have reached a comfortable weight I won't make it to -35, BUT I will shoot for the stars and hope to get past the trees.. :)

4.Play with my children more
We get so caught up with our daily chores we forget life's important things. Hopefully with resolution #2 I will have more time to just goof off and play with my children.

5.Have Date Night With My Husband
I want to atleast once a month have a date night with my husband, just the two of us. It can be at home with a movie or in town talking over a pizza.

6.Read a New Book Each Month
I would like to take some me time and read a new book each month. Twelve books in a years time seems like a challange I can handle.

These are my resolutions and I pray with the strength of Christ behind me I will be able to tackle the tasks at hand. I pray each of my friends and family a safe 2006 and may you be blessed in the new year as we were in the past. Remember year round the one who died on the cross for our sins and he will bless your life in all your endeavors.

Well Its Over

We anticipate this day for so long, the look on our kids faces when they open that gift they have wanted for so long, the smell of spices in the kitchen while lunch is being prepared, enjoying being off from work having then house full of family and friends. All this hype and now...it is over...it is a refreshing feeling...but yet a let down. I really enjoy the way my home looks with the christmas tree and the spirited decorations and now I have to go back to boring Rachel.... but then it is refreshing because there is no more massive gift buying or fighting with the crowds for that last package of wrapping paper. It is back to the normal friday night grocery shopping, and saturday cleaning spree. BUT... our Christmas was wonderful. I will post some pics this week of the kids on Christmas morning. We started our holiday on Christmas Eve. We always go to Brads grandmother and grandfathers for our family get together. We rushed through that for our church service (which was wonderful...it is so nice to recapture the true meaning of Christmas) and then once that was over we scurried off to Brad's mom home for a night of exchanging and snacking. Once all that was over we mosey on over to our home...to put the kids to bed and start our Santa routine. Each year it gets harder...b/c santa isn't getting any younger.. :) We finally get out tired and worn out selves to bed....just to get enough wink eye and then then kids realize that somewhere the moon bumped the horizen and it is time to get up and see what sants has brought them. It was so nice to see their smiling faces looking at all the fun stuff they have in store. Once all the gift opening was done we went back to Brad's mom for some yummy food. We layed around her house watching movies and nick nacking all afternoon long...and then we went to my moms house after she got out of church to do out christmas together. Once that was over with we went back home to do Christmas with Brian and Ashlee. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed spending time with everyone. Now I think I actually look foward to boring Rachel...that you could read like a book. Mabey even start spring cleaning earlier. Keep checking in...I am going to post my New Years Resolutions...as soon as I can figure out what I can keep this year.. :)

This was the Columbus Christmas Parade 2005. Our float was infront of all of us. Celsie, Amber, Sam and myself was dressed as "Gifts" It was a week solid of hard work but we somehow managed to stumble through it and the night was so much fun. We could act as goofs during the parade and the float was beautiful... In my eyes....we won first place...not so in reality but that is ok. as long as we had a good time...that is all that matters...but don't get me wrong...I am sooo glad that it is over and mabey in a few weeks...I can have some normal life again...

This is a pic we took at "The W" last weekend. Jackie said that trying to take pics was like hearding chickens....which is true. It never fails that everytime we go to snap a shot someone looked in the opposite direction. BUT these are my kids. Clay is 7 and Caiden is 2. I just love them. They are my world and I am truely BLESSED to have the opportunity to be their mom. It was a gift given to me that I realize everyday, can be taken away so I need to enjoy every minute every second every breath of it.

I am soo sorry...It has been soo long since I have posted something on my blog. Caiden is doing really well.. she is actually getting back to her normal diva self. I promise I will post some new pics of her next week. For those of you who do not know... I was transfered to another department. I am now in the business office as a personal assistant to Birney and some sort of a Public Relations Coordinator and Office assistant. Everything is going well...it is just really different than the Advertising Department. By the way...is there anyone else out there who cannot believe it is almost Thanksgiving...let alone Christmas. I am sooo unprepared for either holiday...I told myself that things would be different this year...but with Caiden just finishing up her 5th Open Heart Surgery....my plans were ultimately changed. Mabey in the next few weeks I can get it all completed...I mean..I LOVE Christmas time...and all the fun times to shop....but when it gets really close to "That Time Of The Year" those people just DRIVE ME NUTS.... Merry Turkey .. :)

Rachel, Brad and Caiden should be home sometime today.

Caiden's surgeon is even impressed with her recovery, because this is usually the hardest one for children to recover from, and it's been her best so far!

Caiden is out of the hospital!

That's right, she was discharged from the hospital Monday. That just goes to show that prayers are answered, because before they left, Rachel thought they'd keep Caiden knocked out for about a week. And here she is, being released from the hospital less than a week after her heart surgery.

Rachel said that Caiden tires easily, and doesn't want to use one of her arms (because of the IVs that were in it) but other than that she's her wonderful, usual self. They have a check-up on Wednesday and are hoping to head back home afterwards. So hopefully before long, you'll be reading what Rachel writes on her blog instead of me!

Things are looking good!

Early this morning, Caiden was moved out of ICU! Rachel thought she might get out sometime Sunday, so this shows how well she is recovering.

I have an 800 number to call to Caiden's room, if anyone would like to call her, let me know and I'll give you the number and her room number. If I understand correctly, she'll be moved again before she's released from the hospital, which may be sooner than any of us thought.

Rachel just can't believe how good Caiden is doing. She's eating really well, which is a HUGE deal. She told me she just kept waiting to hear some bad news, because they've never had a surgery go this well. I told her there was a first time for everything. Seems like all our prayers are being heard.

When I told her about the collection we'd taken up at work, she just could believe it. I told her that it was Jeff's idea and she told me I should have talked him out of it! YEAH RIGHT... Silly girl!

"She Looks So Good"

This is what Rachel says to me about Caiden every time I talk to her.

Caiden is awake, and not too happy that she can only have ice chips. But Rachel said that they will begin decreasing her IV fluids and she'll be able to drink more liquids.

By this evening, Caiden should have all the tubes removed, except for some IV lines. There are quite a few that have came out today already, and more to come. Rachel named them all, but I got a little overwhelmed by all the medical jargon!

She also told me that she might be able to hold Caiden tomorrow, I know that will make them both feel better! And they are hoping to be out of ICU Sunday.

Things are looking good, but they still need our prayers. And let's not forget about Clay! He's being taken care of by Rachel's parents, but I'm sure he misses his parents and sister.

Caiden got out of surgery about 3:20 pm CST and everything went well. The surgeon told Rachel and Brad that he accomplished everything he set out to do with no complications. They were going to get to see her soon.

This is wonderful news, but she's still got a long recovery ahead of her, so keep praying!

Mid-Surgery Update

So far, so good!

Caiden was taken to surgery about 8am CST and about 1pm CST they had gotten in and got Caiden on the heart-lung machine and had started the repair. She is doing really well so far.

Rachel seems to be holding up pretty well also. It will be several hours before any more updates, so I might not have anything to post until tomorrow morning.

Tuesday Evening

Rachel called and they've gotten a room at the Ronald McDonald house!

Caiden will be admitted to the hospital this evening and her surgery is scheduled for 7:30am-6:30am central.

Dr. Meade (sp?) said the surgery would probably last about 6-8 hours; it's just hard to know until they get in and see everything. He did give Caiden a 93% chance of making it through surgery well; those are pretty good odds.

Just keep praying!

Tuesday Afternoon

Rachel, Brad and Caiden made it to Cleveland safely Monday afternoon. Unfortunately, there is a waiting list to get into the Ronald McDonald House, so they stayed in a hotel last night.

Caiden had made it through most of her pre-op tests, etc. by mid-afternoon, but they were still waiting on a few things. Like whether she'll be admitted this afternoon or in the morning. It looks like she'll still go into surgery in the morning, probably around 5:30 am our time.

Just keep them all in your prayers, and I'll post an update when I know something new.

Quick Update

Ok..her is a quick update. Caiden has a surgery date set. We are leaving this weekend for Cleveland Ohio. Her post op is on Tuesday October 11, 2005 and the actual surgery is scheduled for Wednesday October 12, 2005. We will be up there for several weeks. Keep Caiden in your daily prayers so that she will make it through surgery withouth any complications and keep Brad and I in your prayers so that we can be the strong parents we need to be. This will hopefully be the last surgery for a few years. They are doing her final repair and putting in a pulmonary artery for her. Since it will be "fake plumbing" it doesn't grow as she grows so they will have to replace it as her body outgrows it. Mabey in the future someone will invent or come up with a better pulmonary that will grow with her.

I swear this week has just crept by. I keep saying I am going to do this tomorrow and that tomorrow until I realize...tomorrow's friday...I won't be doing anything until Saturday! Am I getting just that old and Stupid that I cannot even remember what day it is? I have two children I am raising and I cannot even distinquish the days of the week. What is wrong with me. I think parts of my brain is falling out or something. I walk into a room and cannot for the life of me remember what in the mess and I doing in that room. Someone should warn you as a child that with every passing year...your brain falls out...I mean I cannot think of any other option other than I am turning stupid...I always say..I am stuffed stupid (after a Really big meal) but just in general turning stupid is scaring me.. :)

She is saying her blessing before she eats, during our supper and even after supper. She makes all of us re-pray if we leave the table and return with like salt or extra bread. She is soo funny.

Monday Again!

Well, I guess it is Monday all over again. We have another 5 days until the weekend. I am starting to believe that my life consists of waiting. Waiting for the weekend, waiting for my BIG break, waiting for payday, waiting waiting waiting. But I guess that will be ok. This weekend was nice. We bought a new car on Saturday. ( I will post a photo tomorrow) and then on Sunday we had a Clemmons Family reunion. BUT. Desperate Housewives premiered on Sunday night along with Gray's Anatomy. LOVE it... That just made my weekend watching Desperate. It was great. If you haven't figured out...I am a TV FREAK... I love so many different television series shows I just burn up my DVR on a daily basis on both recievers. Being a mom of two..I am not sure how I manage to keep up with them..but somehow I seem to. Monday-Friday there are MANY shows that I watch..then on saturday night there are some new ones and then sunday night. It is scary how engulfed I am with the Boob Tube.. :) I guess it is my only escape into a world I will never see of enless bank accounts, exotic vacations, fabulous well behaved children, bottomless closet with the latest trends and perfectly managed homes. I love my life...but wouldn't it be nice to have those perks of nannys, maids, money in the bank and credit cards you never have to pay... :)

Why is it some mornings there is nothing you can do to have a normal one. Nothing works right, you can't find anything and then traffic look like dang New York City. Just when you don't think things can't get worse you get stopped by a train. A train that put me almost 30 minutes late for work. Sometime I think fate just works against you. BUT I am going to stay positive and enjoy one moment for the next. I just wondered does everyone else have the same dang days that I do or am I the only doormat of the world.

Brad and I are trying to get into a different car. We decided that since we have owned Honda's before and that we loved them it would be in our best intrest to get another one. Well things are going ok with the car shopping we have actually found two that we really like. We are at a loss. Do we get Silver or Pearl Gray. We absolutely love both of them and cannot decide which one to get. We are not too picky...all we wanted was a way cheaper car payment and CHEAPER gas... We just don't know what to do. Should we be different and get the gray...which is really cute....or go with the sporty Silver one. I mean decisions decisions decisions. :)

This weekend I went to Memphis with Brad and Sam for Nell & Brian's wedding. We got in and went to our room (The Peabody) and started to get ready. Nell had a meet & greet at Pat O's on Beale Street on Friday night. Afterward we went to a local bar and hung out for a few hours. It was soo much fun just dancing and having a really good time. Saturday morning Sam had a dayspa appointment with all the girls so Brad and I just walked around and window shopped and spent the entire day with one another. (we really needed it) Saturday afternoon Celsie, Robert & Peggy met up with us and we all got ready for the wedding. It was everything that I had expected; very elegant, pretty, and fun. She was a beautiful bride and he was a handsome groom. I love seeing her soo happy. The reception was so nice, we had an open bar and lots of yummy food. It was so nice to be waited on hand and foot. After the wedding Brad and I went out to Beale street with Celsie & Robert and then later on with Andy R. It was soo much fun. Beale street was a packed house and so was the bar. We danced and danced and danced. Brad and I didn't get in our room until about 3:30 or 4:00 (I think) We had to get up the next day to drive home. Like a big goofy tail...I left our bathroom bag...well in the bathroom. Now The Peabody is having to FedEx our bag to us. But the trip was alot of fun and we loved it.

Ok, I know that way back when people didn't have air conditioned housing and they didn't have the luxuries that we do today...BUT...I really like them. We had a touch of Hurricane Katrina Monday night and we have been without power ever since. That means not hot showers, no cooking supper, or watching tv, or even turning on lights to see what is in my closet to wear. The nights...Oh my...HOT HOT HOT... my husband got a generator and last night I would have rather had air conditioning than running the fridge SO I made him plug in a window unit and Unplug the fridge... We shut the bedroom door and let the room get as cold as it could. We actually slept last night without sufficating. I had some friends spend the night b/c they were still out of power and then there was myself, my husband, and my two children in our small bedroom...but we were all cool and comfy.. I am counting down the days until we have glowing lights, cooled rooms, cooking stove, and entertaining television.. Until then we are extrememly blessed to be without power. We could be without home, land, or family like many in the southern part of Ms and LA. and AL. They are bad shape and we really need to keep all of them in our prayers.

What a Day I Have

Boy this has been a week. My mother has been sick with a Spider Bite. (Recluse... I am not sure I spelled it correctly) She has had a time with it. Clay is in school which means that I have to get up at the crack of dawn and get myself ready and then proceed to remove my children from bed and coax them into their clothes for the day. Once this finally occurs I then have to put forth some breafast for them to stare with their glazed sleeps eyes. Finally the children awake and they are wound up..but unfortuantly this is the time I need to get the finals in place for us to walk out the door. Boy what a challange it is to just start the day, let alone go to work for 9 hours of...well...work.... But once the day has ended at The Commercial Dispatch it starts in a completely different way. Then you have to go home...start supper, feed the family, bathe the children, do homework, get them ready for bed... setttled down for sleepy time and then put the house back together for the little tornados that seem to tear it down on a daily basis. Once thier little heads are on their pillows there is dishes to do, papers to sign, clothes to wash and put away and set everything out for the next day. Whew...and I thought things were suppose to get easier as your children start to get a little older. Yeah right...but you know what...there isn't a day I would change and I look forward to seeing their precious little faces smiling back at me. I love being a mom and wife and would not change one thing about how my life has turned out. Oh...well I guess I got off a little...Since my mom has been sick... I have had alot of other stuff on me since she is my rock (she keeps my children...one all day and the other after school) But she is finally on the path of recovery and I pray everyday that the Lord heals her and puts her back on her happy path.
